are we there yet??

About 1 week ago I was pretty sure that it was going to be Fall and that Fall was going to stay! How wrong I was! Boo! I think we got low about down to 67 degrees... for shame though, it did not stay for long! Last week it was back up to the 90's! Bah! I am so ready to wear layers, and scarfs and all of the fun stuff that Fall calls for! I am just hoping that the summer ends soon!

About a month ago, I came to the realization (with the help of my friend, Eryn) that my class was in need of a pet. I was going to get a fish, until I was convinced to get us a pet Bunny... As soon as I met my little lady I was sold, a bunny it would be! So much more fun than just watching a boring fish that you couldn't pet if you wanted to.

Meet Ramona-bunny age 2 months

This rabbit is such a goof! Let me just say, she fits in perfectly with my current class of fourth graders! She isn't a biter and she certainly doesn't poop or pee all around my classroom... but that might have something to do with the fact that she is terrified of the rest of my class! The reason, apparently it is because she is not a fan of the tile! haha! Her little feet cannot grip on the tile as opposed to the rug that is directly in front of her cage!

The downfall to having a bunny is that little blue bowl on the left hand side of the picture, she pees and poops in that sucker and the pee gets a bit stinky! gag!

Shortly after getting Ramona I got to celebrate my birthday... and had the best gift ever, My MOM and DAD!!!

Meet the mama and the pop!

They are so awesome! It was such a fantastic surprise, and I had absolutely no idea they were coming and was really missing them!!

Welp, I hope everybody out there has a great week!

Riding the Crazy Train and Lovin' it!

Well... After this long week I am finally feeling able to reflect on the weekend I was able to enjoy just a short 7 days ago.

In a few short words I was able to make my first home made batch of random mixed drink for my birthday, get a fantastic surprise from my amazing parents, win 5 dollars playing bingo (not even enough to cover the cost of playing), as well as winning $18.50 betting on New Mexico State University to win a football game.

Wow! What an eventful birthday weekend I had!

I still cannot get over that my Mom and Dad were able to keep the secret from me for so long, and that my long time friend was able to keep a secret from me as well! Shocking! I am not exaggerating when I say that I talk to my Mom multiple times/day, and the fact that I totally believed that she visited my grandma and was driving home!

This school year has been quite the year already. I love teaching, I love learning, and I love getting to learn more about the students I get to teach. But let me say, sometimes I get in a funk when it comes down to it, but when I think about the whole package my students really are amazing! They are dynamic! They are funny and kind and care about the success of their peers and about their crazy teacher with her maracha and class pet!

I am so fortunate that I get to spend my days with creative, clever and hysterical people!
Hopefully I will get around to posting some pictures from my weekend and of my class (including Ramona) sometime soon!

Love you all!

a new year {and randomness!!}

Sorry for the delay in new postings on this crazy thing... it has been a whirl wind of a month and a half and while I am still searching for my legs I felt oddly compelled to write on this e-journal I have been keeping!

This school year has been a roller coaster for me, I have been busily working on my classes for grad school. Let me tell you, it was quite a relief for me to see that traditional courses are so much less stressful then the classes I took over the summer... which were insanely demanding! Thank goodness that at this point in time there have been sporadic assignments due, I have an inkling {and 2 course syllabus'} telling me that big assignments are going to hit at the same time! Maybe I can be the anal retentive planner that I am and actually succeed in getting projects done ahead of time! **fingers crossed!**

Now on to the big news that is about to hit:
I got my 4th grade crazies a class pet!!!! I am so excited, and she is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Now I don't think I would have ever called myself a bunny person, but I think this is going to be a successful class pet for the age that by kiddo's are! I really like the fact that this is something they will be able to touch and name and take home on the weekends {if their parents say it's okay!}. My friend {and fellow teacher} Eryn got my bunnies sister and is going to house it as her class pet as well! We are crazy ladies who ask about one thousand questions, and do extensive amounts of research on things before we make up our minds we understand the pros and cons to getting this as our class pet, needless to say we are both willing to take on this responsibility! Go Us! {and if you ever have any free time and think about the adorable honey colored bunny in the cage in my living room anxiously awaiting her 26 crazy 4th graders, please send us good vibes, happy smiles, and prayers! if we don't need it for the bun bun then I will at least need it to give me strength to get through the day!}

Moving on...

Today I believe I spent an hour at Target, wandering the isles and wholeheartedly avoiding being productive and grading papers and tests from my kids. Beginning in the tech area and looking at all of the movies and books I was so distracted it was ah-mazing! I even felt compelled to purchase a new movie for myself. {This was a treat, I don't feel the need to purchase movies because I am one of those suckers who is sticking with Netflix even after they raised the prices!} I was excited to finally open it and put it in the dvd player around 8 this evening and after going through all of the hassle of unwrapping all of the plastic wrap.... The Case Was EMPTY!!!! ***BLAST***  Such a major bummer!

hopefully I will get better about my frequency posting!
I do miss Shimmer Sparkle Sarah when I don't give it the love it deserves!
also hope to add pictures the next post!! :)
